Innovation area: ITAM

Flexera Assist, our new documentation chatbot

Now in Flexera One and Snow Atlas, customers use Flexera Assist to ask questions of our product documentation and find answers faster than before.

New PowerBI reports for Snow Optimizer for SAP Software customers

Customers can now access, visualize and interact with their Snow Optimizer for SAP data directly within PowerBI. These new reports provide improved visualization of how customers can improve their compliance position and optimize license spend. They’re available to customers in V4.2 of Snow Optimizer for SAP Software.

Save time importing SAP contracts from SAP for ME/CLE

Many customers have multiple SAP contracts that change frequently, and it’s very time consuming to add these to Snow Optimizer for SAP® Software. Because of this, we’ve built an automated import feature to add SAP contracts from SAP for ME and CLE. This new feature will reduce the time to add contracts from hours or even days to just a few minutes, and it will also improve data accuracy with automation.

Innovation area: FinOps

AI-based cost anomaly detection

Flexera’s Cloud Cost Optimization (CCO) in Flexera One has released AI/ML-based cost anomaly detection to find unusual cost patterns for customers who have the AI-based capability enabled. (If any customer would like the AI-based capability enabled, contact Flexera Support.) This switch from Bollinger Bands to ML-based detection significantly improves accuracy, reduces false positives, and enables proactive cost management.

  • Machine learning identifies cost anomalies within a specified threshold, minimizing false positives and negatives
  • Comprehensive root cause analysis will be provided for each detected anomaly, including potential factors such as resource utilization, pricing changes and billing errors
  • Users can filter anomalies by various criteria such as resource type, cost impact and time period to facilitate fast remediation

Auto-rightsizing for Kubernetes pods

Flexera’s Spot Ocean has launched in-place automated rightsizing for Kubernetes pods. This powerful feature allows you to auto-apply pod rightsizing recommendations live, without needing to restart workloads.

This is especially valuable for:

  • Mission-critical, high SLA and otherwise fault-sensitive services
  • Volatile workloads, where resource demands are dictated by brief, high peaks

Read more on the release blog: In-place pod rightsizing: How to save K8s resources without missing a beat

View K8 rightsizing opportunities by namespace and workload

Enabling engineers to act on Kubernetes (K8) rightsizing opportunities requires visibility into the workloads they own. Flexera’s Spot Ocean now displays potential savings per namespace or individual workload, so you can see which teams or services are responsible for overprovisioning and empower them to rightsizing accordingly. Visit the Right Sizing tab in the console to view these potential savings.

See source of savings for K8 pods

Flexera’s Spot Ocean now makes it easier to see where your savings came from. New tabs in the console show how much was saved by each optimization strategy: running on Spot instances, bin packing, reverting to lower-cost resources and rightsizing.

Dynamic rules for cost allocation

Cloud Cost Optimization in Flexera One has released dynamic dimension value mapping for Rule-based dimensions (RBDs) for MSPs. RBD rules previously required static text values for each condition, leading to repetitive and cumbersome rule sets that were difficult to scale and maintain. Now, rules can use a dimension’s value as the rule output, eliminating the need for static value definitions. This approach significantly reduces the number of rules needed for large datasets, simplifying cost allocation.

Azure EA credits automatically displayed

Flexera’s CCO now automatically displays adjustments credits for all Azure EA customers in the UI, eliminating the need for manual effort to display credits. To view this update, navigate to Cloud > Cost Optimization > Tabular view and use the Line-Item Type filter to view “AdjustmentCredit”. The description also provides detailed information about each adjustment.

For MSPs: Bill splitting now in the UI

Cloud Cost Optimization in Flexera One now supports bill splitting using RBDs in the user interface for managed service providers (MSPs). Prior to this update, MSPs relied primarily on backend APIs to create or update bill-splitting RBDs, limiting flexibility and requiring engineering support for changes. Now, MSPs can create and update rules directly in the UI, and filter to MSP-specific rules using the new “RBD_MSP” tag.

Innovation area: Flexera One SaaS Management

SaaS Management releases universal connector

What it is

We’re excited to introduce a universal connector in Flexera One SaaS Management. This new capability allows you to bring in user and usage data from any cloud application—not just those covered by our out-of-the-box integrations. You can upload data manually through the UI or automatically via API using a standard CSV format, giving your teams a flexible and scalable way to enhance SaaS visibility.

What the value is

The universal connector fills a critical visibility gap by enabling organizations to track SaaS usage across their entire application portfolio—not just the top 50 supported apps. With this release, you can:

  • Uncover hidden software purchases and usage patterns
  • Identify potential risks from unmanaged applications
  • Unlock new cost optimization opportunities
  • Reduce the manual effort required to manage long-tail SaaS apps

Ultimately, it empowers organizations to make better decisions, improve governance and fully realize the value of their SaaS Management investments.

Flexera One SaaS Management releases application certification and risk score through CASB integration

What it is

Flexera One SaaS Management now includes Application Certification and Risk Score data through our integration with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (CASB). This enhancement brings crucial security context to discovered SaaS applications—automatically surfacing risk scores and certification information to help teams make more informed decisions.

What the value is

With this new integration, organizations gain visibility into the security posture of their SaaS estate. You can:

  • Instantly identify risky applications based on integrated risk scores
  • Understand which apps are certified—and which may pose compliance or security issues
  • Take immediate action to reduce potential threats
  • Eliminate manual, time-consuming efforts to gather this data from external sources

This release helps organizations reduce risk at scale while further strengthening the value of Flexera One SaaS Management as a unified platform for visibility, cost optimization and governance.

Innovation area: Flexera One IT Visibility

Contextual data mashup enhancements in Flexera One IT Visibility

We’re significantly improving the Flexera One IT Visibility contextual data mashup feature, thanks to feedback from our customers and the teams using it. These updates will make it easier to understand and manage your inventory data.

What’s New

View dataset schema in the UI
You can now see the full schema of any uploaded dataset—column names, data types and key fields—directly in the UI. This removes the need for tools like Postman or Altair to access schema info via API, making it faster to validate your data before uploading and ensuring it’s structured correctly for downstream use.

  • Full audit tracking
Every create or update action now logs who made the change (user or service account) and when. This complete traceability is especially useful for automated scripts, helping you quickly investigate any issues with contextual data flowing into the data lake house.
  • Clearer error handling
A new “Uploaded with Errors” status helps you distinguish between partial and full upload failures. Row-level error logs show exactly which records failed, so you can fix and re-upload only those rows, saving time and improving data quality.

What these updates mean for you:

  • Stronger data Confidence
Instantly viewing dataset schemas in the UI helps ensure your data is correctly structured before making updates—reducing errors and improving data reliability.
  • Enhanced governance and compliance
Detailed audit trails provide full visibility into who made changes and when, making it easier to investigate issues and meet compliance requirements.
  • Faster, smarter issue resolution
With row-level error logs and clearer upload statuses, your team can quickly pinpoint and fix only the problem data, saving time and maintaining high data quality.

Innovation area: Security/Software Vulnerability Management (SVM)

Software Vulnerability Research (SVR) June 2025 update: Easier access to API documentation with SSO

The latest SVR update is now live, and it brings a key improvement to customer workflow: users can now access the Flexera API documentation portal using the same Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials and authentication method used for the SVR platform.

Why this matters

This update simplifies access and improves security by unifying login credentials. Once logged into the SVR web application, SSO users can seamlessly navigate to the API documentation portal without needing separate credentials, saving time and reducing friction.

  • One login, full access
  • Faster onboarding for customers
  • Improved security and consistency
