Optimize Google Cloud CUDs and SUDs
Flexera’s commitment management solution, Eco, has a new Google Cloud user dashboard for Google Cloud Committed Use Discounts (CUDs) and Sustained Use Discounts (SUDs). Now, users can track Eco’s optimization of their CUDs and SUDs, including savings and commitment balance, with more analytics to come in H2 2025. Eco’s Google Cloud dashboard is available (alongside AWS and Azure dashboards) from within the Flexera One console.
Automated Kubernetes rightsizing
Within Flexera’s Kubernetes cost management solution, Spot Ocean, automated Kubernetes rightsizing is now available for all customers, with several new enhancements:
- View potential and actual savings from rightsizing actions and apply automatic rules to selected workloads
- Define rightsizing rules per namespace or label so they auto-attach to any new workload with these attributes
- Set sample percentile to be used as a baseline for recommendations at the workload and cluster level.
- More aggressive settings (as low as the 85th percentile) ignore anomalous usage spikes; this results in lower recommended CPU and memory values
- Conservative settings (up to the 100th percentile) take all data into account for more moderate adjustments
- Rightsizing recommendations now consider triggers from the Kubernetes Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA) to avoid conflicts with Ocean’s own Vertical Pod Autoscaling (VPA) configurations
- [Coming later in June!] No-reset rightsizing: Building on the Kubernetes 1.33 version and the latest VPA release, Ocean’s automated rightsizing can be done live—with no need to reset the workloads
- This will unlock greater savings, especially for volatile workloads where demands are dictated by the highest peak, creating waste in between peaks
- A powerful use case is Java workloads, which are characterized by early CPU peaks
- Ocean will now allow rightsizing as soon as the peak is over
Save on AWS AI workloads with GPU time-slicing
Ocean now supports time-slicing Nvidia GPUs for Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), enabling multiple Amazon EKS workloads to share the same GPU and utilize every bit of it. All you do is enter your configured GPU multiplier on the Ocean API. Now, instead of needing a separate GPU instance for every task, you can pack multiple tasks onto a single instance, leading to significant cost savings on AI workloads.
Hybrid autoscaling for Azure commitments
Flexera Spot now allows Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and stateful Azure VM workloads to utilize existing reservations and savings plans. Spot will seamlessly alternate between commitments, spot VMs and on-demand compute instances to ensure intact performance at the most efficient cost.
Save time and money, reduce errors with AKS auto-updates
Ocean now includes automated AKS cluster updates. Intelligent, commitment-aware autoscaling prioritizes your existing Azure commitments during scaling events, reducing reliance on on-demand or spot VMs. This helps you keep your cloud budget in check without compromising availability. We’ve also added auto-upgrades for AKS control plane versions, which takes the burden off your DevOps team by automatically detecting when a new patch is available. With these updates, Azure users no longer need to choose between cost and performance.
Gain real-time insights into cloud carbon emissions
Flexera Cloud Cost Optimization (CCO) customers now can access a new Cloud Sustainability Impact Intelligence report within the Flexera One console. The report provides real-time insights into carbon emissions, water consumption and electricity usage, helping organizations monitor and reduce their environmental impact. It illustrates key metrics such as carbon footprint by cloud service provider, energy consumption and emissions trends over time.
By analyzing this data, businesses can track sustainability goals and make data-driven decisions that lower their carbon footprint, supporting a more eco-friendly and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure. Learn more here.
Innovation area: SaaS Management
Salesforce roles and profiles support
The enhanced Salesforce integration in Flexera One SaaS Management now includes support for Salesforce roles and profiles, helping organizations improve license governance, ensure compliance and optimize costs. Roles define what users can see, while profiles define what users can do—key distinctions for managing access and license entitlements. We’ve also added new user-level fields such as locale, user ID, alias and user type to support more detailed reporting. All of this is now available in the Salesforce family view under the user tab.
New Microsoft Copilot connector
Flexera One SaaS Management M365 integration has been expanded to support Microsoft Copilot, giving organizations better visibility into how AI software licenses are being used and adopted. This enhanced integration can now retrieve user activity data for Microsoft Copilot. It is also incorporated alongside existing M365 insights and surfaces valuable recommendations about potential optimization opportunities.
Innovation area: IT Visibility
Report features and enhancements
Mass filter feature added to hardware and software portfolio overviews
Gain improved usability and manual effort reduction with mass filters. Mass filters help customers apply bulk filtering with a list of keywords. Here’s how it works:
Copy a list of keywords from any external source (Excel, CSV, plain text file) and paste it in the input box; all values are used at once to filter the report instantly. With mass filters, customers get faster insights, especially when working with large datasets or performing comparative analysis.
Search filters are now case insensitive
Search filters in reports are now case insensitive, including contextualization fields, making it easier for customers to find relevant data without worrying about capitalization. With this update, we aim to improve usability and consistency across reports. Note: For contextualization, customers are advised to reupload the data for the changes to reflect. See the Flexera documentation for details on additional minor updates.
Enhancements to IT Visibility insights query API
Expanded software inventory source updates
IT Visibility now provides more detailed software inventory information with the addition of crucial file-level evidence and installation path detail via the software inventory source dataset.
Customers using this endpoint can:
- Easily track the installation paths of software evidence, improving both accessibility and traceability
- Have complete transparency over file evidence; this will simplify the review and management process
- Discover a deeper understanding of their installed software that will help enhance inventory management and support compliance efforts
What is changing?
- The software inventory source dataset will be expanded to include support for file evidence, providing customers with richer and more detailed data
- The software inventory source dataset now includes four additional columns in both Delta and Snapshot:
- Path (Installation path/file path)
- FileName
- FileVersion
- FileSize
- The InstallType field will now differentiate between evidence types in both Delta and Snapshot:
- 0 for software_installer_evidence
- 1 for operating_system_evidence
- 2 for software_file_evidence
Important note:
Please note that, following this update, all previously issued resume tokens for the software inventory source dataset will no longer be valid. Customers will need to request a new snapshot and use the updated resume token for all future interactions. For those using the Flexera One ServiceNow Integration Application, this update will be handled automatically, ensuring no impact to your service.
Transition to the new and improved Inventory Normalization Insights report
The new Inventory Normalization Insights report is now available at Data Collection > IT Visibility Inventory Status > Inventory Normalization Insights. This new report provides customers with a more powerful and accurate way to view their data, as well as enhanced features and more precise counts, empowering you with deeper insights into your inventory.
As of May 30, 2025, this report replaces the legacy Inventory Normalization Statistics report (found under Data Collection > IT Visibility Inventory Status > Inventory Normalization Statistics), which will be officially decommissioned.
There will be no disruption to Inventory Normalization reporting during this transition.
