  • Cluster required vSAN capacity: The total number of TiBs (Tebibytes) used by vSAN datastores on all hosts belonging to the vMotion cluster represented in this row.
  • Host required vSAN capacity (TiBs): The total number of TiBs used by vSAN datastores on the host represented by this row.

Innovation area: IT Visibility

New: Technology Intelligence landing page in Flexera One IT Visibility

For IT Visibility customers, Flexera One introduced a new landing page, enhancing the experience and delivery of Technology Intelligence reporting.

All current out-of-the-box (OOTB) reports will still be available, but now with more user-friendly access. On the landing page, you will find reports grouped based on the jobs to be done, simplifying navigation and enabling you to make informed business decisions more efficiently.

The existing OOTB reports are now grouped under the following types:

  • Hardware – These reports focus on hardware inventory, lifecycle insights, inventory and lifecycle trends, procurement planning, VM and host relationships, and sustainability insights.
  • Software  These reports focus on software inventory, lifecycle trends, vulnerabilities, lifecycle risks, and procurement planning.
  • Governance & Risk – These reports help IT teams address lifecycle risks, ensure compliance, and manage vulnerabilities by providing insights into hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Procurement  These reports optimize hardware and software purchasing by highlighting lifecycle stages, end of life, end of sale, and obsolescence risks.
  • Security – These reports provide insights into threat exposures and lifecycle risks.

Innovation area: SaaS Management

New: Cloud Access Security Broker integration

For many years, Flexera has had the ability to detect sanctioned and unsanctioned SaaS application use with our browser extension. To help more organizations get a handle on shadow SaaS, we recently released integration with a Cloud Access Security Broker connector for Microsoft Defender. This new capability brings immediate visibility of SaaS application usage to software asset managers and adds to our vision of enabling complete SaaS application visibility with a combination of discovery methods to include SSO, CASB, vendor API, agent and browser extensions.

New: AI-generated subcategories

To help customers reduce SaaS sprawl and perform application rationalization better, last year we added AI-generated application descriptions and categories. And now, Snow SaaS Management offers enhanced categorization with AI-generated subcategories, providing users with a more granular breakdown of applications alongside the existing category information for improved insights and navigation.

Innovation Area: FinOps

New: Editing recommendation sets

Expanding on the release of recommendation sets last July, this month we released a new beta feature that enables customers to edit a previously-created recommendation set. Editing a recommendation set allows for the configurable parameters of a recommendation set to be updated and/or removed without requiring the creation of a new recommendation set. For more information, please check out our product announcement. Please note: As this feature is currently in beta, you will need to request that it be enabled for your account.

New: Centralized savings plans visibility now available for Microsoft Azure Modern Commerce Agreement (MCA)

With this enhanced functionality, FinOps teams can now access and manage critical savings plans data including cost, utilization percentage, and expiration dates for Microsoft Azure MCA directly on the savings plans page. This centralized view provides FinOps teams with comprehensive data, allowing them to make informed, timely decisions to better optimize their cloud usage. Previously, FinOps teams had to switch between multiple cloud provider consoles to access these data sets. This enhancement brings all this savings plan data into a single view. For more information, see Microsoft Azure Savings Plans in the Flexera One Help.

Innovation area: Security / Software Vulnerability Management (SVM)

New: SVM on-prem updates

Gain recent updates for SVM Cloud and Patch Publisher in our SVM on-prem edition. SVM on-prem R4 v 7.6.1.31 is now available and is compatible with the latest version of the Patch Publisher v 7.24.1667. Some important enhancements include:

Manage assignments for deployed packages
A new context menu option “Manage Assignments” has been introduced in the patch deployment status grid, enabling updates to already-deployed patches during Intune publishing. This update allows customers to easily add, edit, or delete patches based on their current status, making the patch management process more efficient. The new “Manage Assignments” option opens the Manage Assignments panel, where customers can update the Required, Available, and Uninstall assignment details for a selected patch.

New “Extracted Filename” text in patch information dialog
In the patch information dialog, a new “Extracted Filename” text has been introduced. This text displays the file path of the installer after the compressed package has been extracted.

Assignment groups migration from Patch Publisher to SVM web UI
This release enhances the migration of assignment groups from Patch Publisher into the SVM web UI, simplifying management and improving usability. With this enhancement, existing assignment groups configured in Patch Publisher will automatically be migrated and made available in the SVM UI upon upgrading. Only migrated groups are now accessible in the SVM UI for adding new groups, ensuring seamless management and data consistency. For additional detail, please see release notes here. New: AdminStudio introduces “My Requests”

AdminStudio’s Package Feed Module (PFM) has been an essential tool for our customers designed to significantly streamline the application packaging and deployment process. While the PFM helps with curated applications, at times there are items that may not be included in the database. Previously, customers raised support tickets to request the inclusion of new applications in PFM; that is why we are thrilled to announce a new feature that streamlines this process—”My Requests.”

Increase responsiveness with “My Requests”

With “My Requests,” customers can now raise new package requests directly from within AdminStudio, eliminating the need to raise support tickets. How it works:

  • The request raised in AdminStudio reaches our Support and Engineering teams for review.
  • After review, the new app is added to our catalog or our support can reach out to the requestor for more information reducing friction and increasing transparency.

Our customers are empowered by “My Requests” to quickly and efficiently add new applications, ensuring that their packaging needs are met promptly. “My Requests” reduces wait times and maintains focus on delivering high-quality, customer-centric solutions.

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving customer satisfaction and product usability, “My Requests” provides a more seamless and responsive process for managing application packaging requests. Read more on Package Feed Module here.
