The Summit Awards honor the software industry's leading vendors that deliver software applications that maximize value for their customers as well as their business, and enterprises that have maximized value from their software purchases. The judging panel included industry analysts and top editors from organizations including AMR, CRN, Forrester, Hurwitz & Associates, IDC, Illuminata, SD Times and the SIIA.
Software vendors were scored based on such areas as software evaluation, flexibility of pricing and licensing, packaging, installation and distribution, automating compliance and the ease of doing business. Enterprises were judged in the areas of usage tracking, software maintenance, preparation, testing and deployment, managing and servicing licenses and entitlements, and software expense optimization.
