Schaumburg, IL - Jul 23, 2012 - Flexera Software, the leading provider of Application Usage Management solutions for application producers and enterprises, announced today that John Shackleton has joined the company as its new Chairman of the Board.

Shackleton brings more than 30 years of experience in the enterprise software space.  He will serve as a key leader of the company's board of directors and strategic advisor to the Flexera Software management team, helping the company manage its rapid growth through its next phase of development.

Flexera Software has staked a clear leadership position in defining the Application Usage Management space, enjoying rapid expansion by enabling software producers, intelligent device manufacturers, enterprises and governments to maximize their return on investment for the entire software lifecycle. And for enterprises and governments, solutions to ensure continuous Application Readiness in the deployment of those applications in heterogeneous environments, and in migrations to new platforms, as well as software license optimization solutions to minimize software compliance audit risks and over-spend on unused shelf ware.

Mr. Shackleton most recently served as a director of OpenText, a content management solution provider, as its President and Chief Executive Officer from 2005 to 2012. Prior to that position, he served as president of Platinum Solutions, the consulting division of Platinum Technologies, between 1995 and 1998.  In previous roles, Mr. Shackleton has also served as Vice President of Professional Services at Sybase, Vice President of Global Services at ViewStar Corporation, and Vice President of Professional services at Oracle.

"John has a long history of accomplishment and success in all facets of the enterprise software space, so he comes to our board with a deep skill that will be extremely valuable to Flexera Software," said Mark Bishof, President and Chief Executive Officer of Flexera Software.  "We welcome his counsel and guidance to help us grow this company to its next phase of success."

"As the only provider delivering Application Usage Management solutions to software vendors, intelligent device manufacturers and enterprises, Flexera Software has a tremendous value proposition, which was a key motivation for my joining the team," said Shackleton.  "The potential for continued organic and inorganic growth is enormous and I look forward to helping Flexera Software meet and exceed its potential."
