Acresso Software Expands Novell Offering with New Multi-Year OEM Agreement

Additional AdminStudio application readiness capabilities provided to ZENworks Configuration Management users

Schaumburg, IL - Mar 17, 2009 - Acresso Software today announced a new, multi-year OEM agreement with Novell to provide a broader AdminStudio application readiness solution set to Novell ZENworks customers. Expanding on the capabilities available under a long-standing agreement with Novell, the complete AdminStudio Standard Edition will now be included in Novell ZENworks Configuration Management, addressing customers' need to streamline customization steps during the preparation of reliable Windows application packages for enterprise deployment. Novell customers using the AdminStudio component of ZENworks have prepared applications for deployment in 85% less time.

Novell ZENworks Configuration Management helps customers efficiently manage both medium and large-scale enterprise IT environments. By combining AdminStudio's efficient and reliable MSI repackaging, application customization, and deployment handoff capabilities, IT is equipped with the automated tools they need to ensure software packages are deployed rapidly and successfully, enabling them to reduce total cost of ownership.

When compared to the AdminStudio Limited Edition, which continues to be available to Novell ZENworks 7 customers, AdminStudio Standard Edition empowers customers with advanced customization capabilities for modifying applications before deploying them in the enterprise. Via the Editor component, based on the Acresso industry-leading InstallShield product, customers can make application modifications via a user-friendly interface. Some examples include the removal of undesired features, inclusion of company standard templates, setting short-cut preferences, and modification of conditional logic that controls the behavior of the installation.

"Novell has worked successfully with Acresso for many years and welcomed the opportunity to expand the relationship to provide additional efficiencies to our ZENworks Configuration Management customers with AdminStudio," said Wendy Steinle, director of End-User Computing Solutions and Product Marketing at Novell. "We know that IT teams today are having to do more with fewer resources, while keeping systems up and running. AdminStudio makes their jobs easier by providing automated tools for rolling out new software and migrating application portfolios to new operating systems or application virtualization initiatives."

"Poorly prepared or tested software packages can crash mission-critical applications, slow productivity, and send help desk costs soaring," said Mark Bishof, Chief Executive Officer for Acresso. "This new milestone in our ongoing relationship with Novell gives ZENworks Configuration Management customers what they want—a powerful approach to deployment, customization that delivers strong business value by ensuring software deployments and OS migrations are done right the first time."

Over 10,000 companies around the world use AdminStudio to manage application readiness around OS migrations and new application rollouts for traditional (MSI) and virtualized environments. AdminStudio is proven technology for preparing applications for deployment, chosen as the repackaging solution for Novell ZENworks, LANDesk Management Suite and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager. In a single solution, AdminStudio supports multiple virtualization vendors: Microsoft App-V, VMWare ThinApp, and Citrix XenApp. When coupled with the Workflow Manager Web-based process management solution, enterprises can quickly establish efficient processes around application readiness.
