4) Description of Vulnerability

Secunia Research has discovered a vulnerability in MPlayer, which can
be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the
"cddb_query_parse()" function in stream/stream_cddb.c when parsing
overly long album titles. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based
buffer overflow by tricking a user into parsing malicious CDDB entries.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.0rc1. Other versions may
also be affected.
